He began at age fourteen, working at a family friend\u2019s gyro stand near the University of Economics in Bratislava. Every compliment he received confirmed that he had found his place in the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s when I knew I wanted to become a chef. The job chose me,\u201d recalls Peter Sla\u010dka.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At 26, he set off to Australia to gain experience. There, things were tougher \u2014 the strict hierarchy of the kitchen and being from a „little-known country“ led to moments of doubt, even tears. But his resolve to pursue gastronomy remained unshaken.<\/p>\n
